Intro

Hello. My name's Rebecca, and I'm a writer.

To date, I've had only one brush with professional publishing -- a short story called "Death Mask," in an anthology of historical vampire stories, Time of the Vampires -- but hope springs eternal, and one of the reasons for starting this blog is the hope it will bring me some encouragement to keep plugging away.

Currently I'm working on a novel titled Looking for Philip Marlowe, which has actually nothing to do with Philip Marlowe, and may require a name change depending on the how the estate of Raymond Chandler looks at things like that ... But that's getting way ahead of the game anyway.

What's it about? A mystery writer named Sabrina, who adores those old classic, black-and-white film noirs, like Laura, Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep, and The Maltese Falcon. She loves them so much that she's, "Looking for Philip Marlowe in a Barney Fife world," as one of the other characters tells her -- hence, the title.

There's mystery and romance and (finger crossed) a lot of fun.

That's the idea anyway. Right now it's mostly still in my head, but every hundred words moves it a little further along.
